Radical Roots MTB and PFLAG are teaming up to create a safe and encouraging space for LGBTQ+ youth, families, allies, and community members to ride together, build confidence, and connect on the trails.
Whether your child is brand new to mountain biking or already loves riding, this event is all about community, support, and having fun outside together. For safety and supervision purposes, riders aged 10 and under must be accompanied on the ride by a parent or guardian. Riders aged 11–17 may participate without a parent riding alongside them. This intermediate/advanced course is designed to get students progressing their skills for hitting jumps and catching air on some of our favorite features for learning on Galbraith Mountain. This class is a perfect next-step for taking all the skills you’ve learned in our “grassroom” (at a local park) and pumptrack sessions to practice in real-life scenarios on the trails. You probably know how much “sessioning” features can help you progress so that’s what this class is all about. If you didn’t know, “sessioning” is when you repeat a particular section of trail, often one that is challenging, seems to interrupt flow, or is just rad, taking various approaches until you start to feel your confidence rise and technique improve. Plus, riding certain features repeatedly with our encouraging coaches along with some direct video feedback is super fun and will provide you with helpful support. So while this won’t be a ride that clocks a lot of miles, it’s sure to help you build your technique in a fun and constructive way.
These pre-race workshops are designed specifically for Sturdy Dirty racers, wait-listers, and other riders who want to work on their racing skills and to show up to their next start line feeling confident, smooth, and fast on race day.
Radical Roots MTB Instruction is partnering with Sturdy Dirty Enduro again this year to offer two pre-race skills workshops with coach Angi Weston.
