MTB 303: Jumping Progressions

$175.00

This intermediate/advanced course is designed to get students progressing their skills for hitting jumps and catching air on some of our favorite features for learning on Galbraith Mountain. This class is a perfect next-step for taking all the skills you’ve learned in our “grassroom” (at a local park) and pumptrack sessions to practice in real-life scenarios on the trails. You probably know how much “sessioning” features can help you progress so that’s what this class is all about. If you didn’t know, “sessioning” is when you repeat a particular section of trail, often one that is challenging, seems to interrupt flow, or is just rad, taking various approaches until you start to feel your confidence rise and technique improve. Plus, riding certain features repeatedly with our encouraging coaches along with some direct video feedback is super fun and will provide you with helpful support. So while this won’t be a ride that clocks a lot of miles, it’s sure to help you build your technique in a fun and constructive way.

  • Prerequisites for this class:

    • A desire to grow and refine your skills for riding mountain bikes at higher speeds and to get your wheels off the ground

    • MTB 302 or equivalent and the ability to perform the skills listed in our 200 level series classes

    • You can ride most or all of the black-rated trails you encounter (except for maybe the jumps)

  • Click here to read more about how you can prepare for your lesson

  • Duration: 3 - 3.5 hrs, depending on class size (>2 students but <7)

  • Cost: $175

  • Location: Exact meeting location will be sent upon registering but you can expect to meet at a local Bellingham trailhead

MTB 303 will cover topics like these:

  • Jumping for air/height vs for speed/distance

  • Skills to work towards clearing jumps (including gap jumps)

  • Different approaches for hitting different types of jumps (table tops, gaps, step-ups & step-downs)

  • Ways to practice jumping at different speeds

  • How to incorporate jump practice into your trail riding

By purchasing this item, you agree to our terms and policies which can be viewed here.

Registration may close 24 to 48 hours before class start time, depending on class size.
