Intro to Night Riding - November 29th at 3:30pm

$95.00

Interested in mountain biking all winter long but shorter days are cramping your style?

Looking for a new way to experience old or familiar trails?

Want to meet new people who also love doing fun (exhilarating? scary?) things?

Welcome to night riding!

Radical Roots MTB is teaming up with Outbound Lighting to provide an introductory night-ride with experienced instructors and top-of-line lights to demo.

Riding at night is spooky and can be intimidating, we get it!

That’s why we welcome you to join our professional (and super stoked) instructors on classic Galbraith trails for an adventurous learning experience. Come see for yourself what the night-riding craze is all about.

  • What to expect:

    • Demo lights available for you to use, if you want

    • Help setting up lights on you and your bike

    • Pointers on best practices for night riding

    • Helpful tips for increasing fun and safety on the trails, especially at night

    • A positive, supportive, inclusive atmosphere to try something new, ask questions, and meet like-minded people

    • 20-30 minutes of set-up and getting everyone dialed in

    • 10-15 minutes of skill assessment and riding pointers

    • 2 - 2.5 hours of riding with short breaks (so no one gets too cold) for some skills coaching, socializing, and snacks

Prerequisites for this class:

  • A desire to try “night riding” which is the sport of mountain biking done at night with personal lights

  • Some previous experience with mountain biking on green and blue trails

  • Duration: 3 - 3.5 hrs, depending on class size (>3 students but <7)

  • Cost: $95/rider

  • Location: Bellingham, WA (exact meeting location will be sent upon registering but you can expect one of Bellingham’s best trailheads)

  • Gear:

    • A well-tuned mountain bike, worthy of off-road use, that fits you comfortably

    • Helmet is required

    • Knee pads, gloves, extra layers of clothing are highly recommended
