This program has historically been designed to serve riders who self-identify as WTFN-B (women/girls, trans, femme, and non-binary). Spring 2025 classes:
Friday Fun Rides: Join our Friday rides for junior mountain bikers with Lead Coaches Nota & Dom and a few of our favorite Teen Mentors. Locations vary from Galbraith Southside, Northside, and The Bike Ranch
Airbag Progression Session: Led by local freeride legend, Hannah Bergemann. This is a special opportunity to get to practice your jumping technique, air-awareness, tricks, and more. Recommended for riders who are already comfortable with catching air at an intermediate level or higher.
M&M Night at The Outpost: A classic combination of M&M candies, movies, and a workshop on Mastering Your Mindset with Coach Kaia Jensen, professional mountain biker and freeride athlete. This is a casual evening event centered around a discussion about mental frameworks and methods to overcome fear and mental blocks on and off the bike. In this workshop, Kaia will walk you through her own system for working through fears with examples from her life, and then help you develop your own framework to work through yours. Come to this discussion prepared with an open mind, a couple examples of challenges you’ve recently faced (on or off the bike), and good energy for supporting your peers in their own process. This workshop will take place at The Outpost.
Radical Racing Practices for Whatcom World Cup races: Does your rider want to try out racing in the fun local series put on by the WMBC? We’d love to help them achieve their goals in a fun and low pressure setting. Whether they are looking to gain speed and composure for race day or they just want to ride more with other junior riders. This is a great opportunity to explore Galbraith, get riding and racing tips, hone skills, and get plenty of encouragement along the way. Our coaches will also be available to ride with juniors who want to race the Wednesday night events, if needed.
