Trail-Ready First Aid: Essential Skills for Mountain Bikers
Join us for a hands-on workshop designed specifically for young mountain bikers ages 10-18! This session will teach practical first aid skills you can use on the trails, including how to control bleeding and create improvised splints using gear you might have with you. We'll practice real scenarios like stabilizing a wrist after an over-the-bars crash or practicing calling for help and assisting evacuations. These aren't just abstract first aid skills - they're tools that could help you or your riding buddies stay safe when you're miles from help.About the Instructor:
Merrill brings a combination of medical experience and mountain biking passion to this workshop. As an Emergency Department nurse at Skagit Valley Hospital and former Flying Squirrels coach, she understands both the medical side of emergency care and the real-world challenges young riders face on the trails. This workshop is part of her community health project for her nursing degree, and she's excited to reconnect with the youth mountain biking community while empowering the next generation of confident, prepared riders.
Radical Racing - Race Preparation Workshops: Use the off-season of racing to get even more dialed for next season. More info coming.
