Transition Bikes skills clinic details:
- Premier Kids Clinics at the Waterfront Skills Zone - These kid-focused sessions will have activities and games that help kids improve their riding and increase the amount of fun they can have on their bikes. With options for all levels of riders ages 6-16 there is sure to be something for everybody. Parents can drop their kids off while they go enjoy the festival, practice their race lines, demo some bikes, etc. 
- After registering you will be sent a follow-up email which contains our intake survey link. Please complete this ASAP and we will sort groups based on age, expectations, goals, & previous experience 
- No on-site registration, pre-registration only 
- Students should bring either a mountain bike or a pumptrack/dirt-jump bike like a Transition PBJ for this class

- Premier Clinic: Jumping & Cornering on Galbraith Mountain - Two of the most popular skills to work on to improve your riding and enjoyment on the bike are jumps (not just catching air but landing safely too) and corners. In this class riders will get a chance to safely build their approach to executing and progressing these skills and will leave with some "fun homework" to keep the practice and progression going long after class ends. This class is great for riders of all levels that want to start building their approach to jumps and corners with more consistency, confidence, and control. 
- Meet at the Transition Bikes Demo Booth at the Waterfront Zone, then we will be taking festival shuttle rigs to the Southside Galbraith drop-off 
- Ideal for advanced-beginners & intermediate riders but even advanced riders may find this class helpful

- Premier Clinic: Roll-downs and Drops on Galbraith Mountain - Two of the most necessary skills to work on to improve your riding, safety, and enjoyment on steep and technical trails are roll-downs (ledges or rock faces that drop away or become steep) and drops (catching air on features that have a ledge or drop-off). In this class riders will get a chance to safely build their approach to executing and progressing these skills and will leave with some "fun homework" to keep the practice and progression going long after class ends. This class is great for riders of all levels that want to start building their approach to steep, technical terrain, roll-downs and drops, with more consistency, confidence, and control.

- Intro to Mountain Biking at the Waterfront Skills Zone - New to mountain biking or looking to try it out for the first time? Start here! In this introductory course, designed for riders who are new to the sport, students can expect to learn a foundation for everything they need to prepare themselves for riding their mountain bike off-road. We offer many skills, drills, and tips in a fun and safe environment in hopes that your mountain bike journey starts on the right track. You can also expect some “fun” homework so you can continue building and refining your skills well after the session ends. 
- Ideal for the MTB-curious, novice, and brand new riders 
- Don’t have a MTB? Be sure to demo one so you come prepared

- Intro to Pumping and Cornering at the Waterfront Skills Zone - The art of pumping is perhaps one of the most underrated ingredients in the secret sauce of shredding. It teaches you to load and unload in time with the terrain and it trains you to let your bike follow an arc while you stay centered over your pedals. Combine that with what is arguably the most important skill to hone on your mountain bike; cornering technique and this class will leave you finding more flow and having more fun on your bike. Yes! That is possible!

- Slow Speed Skills & Skinnies at the Waterfront Skills Zone - Fear not the skinnies! Wait, what are “skinnies”? A skinny is typically referring to a thin or narrow feature you can ride, most often made of wood, like planks or log(s). Skinnies come in all different shapes and sizes and can really elevate your riding experience. In this class students will learn the skills needed to bravely face skinnies and other elevated features. 
- Ideal for advanced-beginners & intermediate riders but even advanced riders may find this class helpful

- The Art of Braking and Bailing at the Waterfront Skills Zone - Yes, there is an art to braking and bailing! In this class students will practice helpful drills for proper braking techniques which can increase their confidence, speed, and traction out on the trails. Then students will learn a variety of ways to dismount from their bikes when they make a mistake or get in over their heads (it happens to the best of us). Also, students will have the chance to practice skills for staying safe when crashes happen with the use of our squishy gymnastics pads and expert instruction. Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport but you can increase your fun while reducing your risk of injury with this helpful class. - Ideal for advanced-beginners & intermediate riders but even advanced riders may find this class helpful

- Into to Wheel lifts at the Waterfront Skills Zone - If you didn’t know, wheel lifts can make your life out on the trails much more enjoyable. Come learn how to hone one of the most helpful skills for riding more controlled, predictable, smooth, and safe - the elusive wheel lift! There are a variety of wheel lifts in mountain biking and we will cover as many as time will allow. Including basic front and rear wheel lifts, basic level lift and basic pedal-punch wheel lifts - we will cover the basics of execution and add layers with timing and speed variables too. With a good coach, wheel lifts can become much easier than you may think. 
- Ideal for advanced-beginners & intermediate riders but even advanced riders may find this class helpful

- Advanced Wheel-lift Progressions at the Waterfront Skills Zone - If you are already honing your basic wheel lifts (front, rear, level, and pedal punch) and you are ready to up your game, then this is the class for you. Come learn how to take your wheel-lifts to the next level by adding layers with timing and speed variables too your basics plus learning advanced wheel-lifts like bunny hops, manuals, and wheelies. Fun! With a good coach and loads of practice, advanced wheel lifts can become much easier than you may think and serve to improve your jumping and technical riding skills immensely. - Ideal for advanced-beginners & intermediate riders but even advanced riders may find this class helpful
