  • Intro to Pumping and Cornering at the Waterfront Skills Zone - The art of pumping is perhaps one of the most underrated ingredients in the secret sauce of shredding. It teaches you to load and unload in time with the terrain and it trains you to let your bike follow an arc while you stay centered over your pedals. Combine that with what is arguably the most important skill to hone on your mountain bike; cornering technique and this class will leave you finding more flow and having more fun on your bike. Yes! That is possible!

    • Ideal for advanced-beginners & intermediate riders but even advanced riders may find this class helpful

    • Family Friendly (meaning kids under 12 are welcome but should be accompanied by an adult)

  • Slow Speed Skills & Skinnies at the Waterfront Skills Zone - Fear not the skinnies! Wait, what are “skinnies”? A skinny is typically referring to a thin or narrow feature you can ride, most often made of wood, like planks or log(s). Skinnies come in all different shapes and sizes and can really elevate your riding experience. In this class students will learn the skills needed to bravely face skinnies and other elevated features.

    • Ideal for advanced-beginners & intermediate riders but even advanced riders may find this class helpful

In this class students will practice helpful drills for proper braking techniques which can increase their confidence, speed, and traction out on the trails. Then students will learn a variety of ways to dismount from their bikes when they make a mistake or get in over their heads (it happens to the best of us). Also, students will have the chance to practice skills for staying safe when crashes happen with the use of our squishy gymnastics pads and expert instruction. Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport but you can increase your fun while reducing your risk of injury with this helpful class.

There are a variety of wheel lifts in mountain biking and we will cover as many as time will allow. Including basic front and rear wheel lifts, basic level lift and basic pedal-punch wheel lifts - we will cover the basics of execution and add layers with timing and speed variables too. With a good coach, wheel lifts can become much easier than you may think.
