Transition Women’s Weekend East will kick off on Friday night with a casual meet-and-greet, facilities tour, and educational opportunities at Industry Nine HQ (150 Westside Dr, Asheville, NC 28806) The coaches and crew would love to get to know you better, mingle a bit, answer any questions, and finalize any registration documents. This is also a great time to get set-up on a demo bike and/or demo wheels if you are planning on demoing a bike or wheels for the weekend. Industry Nine will be treating us to tasty beverages, light snacks, and optional facilities tour and wheel education class.

On Saturday and Sunday we will meet at our special location at Ride Kanuga Bike Park in Hendersonville, NC for a fun-filled day of learning and playing on bikes. You can expect us to split into smaller groups based on goals and previous experience then spend 6-7 hours on the bike each day honing skills, building confidence, riding trails, and deepening your understanding of complex mountain bike techniques. On Saturday night we will gather for a private dinner party at The Hub and Pisgah Tavern, allowing us to relive the fun of day one and continue to get to know each other.

The coaches’ progressive approach to teaching starts students in a low-consequence setting, using our “progression props”, giving them time to focus on proper body position, timing, and execution of fundamental and complex skills. Then they methodically add the next level of complexity for each skill so that their students are powered by the confidence of these successful successions.

Regardless if your goals for the weekend are to learn the basics of mountain biking or learn how to catch more air and ride faster - our coaches tailor the lessons to your goals. Each student will also receive some “fun homework” with a skills re-cap sheet and study guide to help them continue to progress well beyond our weekend together.

Early bird pricing is $445 until March 31st then it bumps to full price, $495

For the Bellingham event we have Coach April Katz, a professional adaptive cycling coach with The Airow Project, working with us. April and her team of coaches will host a group of neurodiverse, disabled, and/or Deaf riders who are able to ride a two wheeled bike. We will do our best to accommodate the needs of the group with either ebikes or shuttle assistance on the hill. As we explore serving more disabled and adaptive riders, we are simultaneously working towards improving access to adaptive trails here locally in Bellingham. Check back for more options in the future for riders on adaptive bikes like hand cycles and three wheelers to join the party.

This was the best weekend I think I’ve ever had.
— TR WW PARTICIPANT (OCT 2021)
I came into the weekend with one goal: Learn how to jump with confidence. It took a morning of instruction to accomplish that goal. Who knew instruction would be so valuable!? I wish I would have done this a decade ago!
— TR WW PARTICIPANT (OCT 2021)
I got so much more out of this event than I expected.
— TR WW PARTICIPANT (OCT 2023)
The coaches were so positive and knowledgeable and could break down what I needed to do. Angi’s enthusiasm and mantras were so encouraging. Shoutout to Transition for supporting this clinic. The food was great and accommodating.
— TR WW PARTICIPANT (July 2022)
My favorite part of the weekend was the instruction & feedback and support of coaches and our group members...and it was simply FUN times!
