Workshop 1: Race Prep
Date: Monday, March 16th @ 4:30pm
Trail: Golden Spike
Start the season strong by learning how to prepare for race day like a pro.
In this workshop riders will learn:
• How to set up their bike for racing
• Basic race-ready body positioning
• How to pre-ride a race course effectively
• How to session sections and choose lines
We’ll also practice on sections of Golden Spike so riders can begin applying these skills immediately.
Perfect for first-time racers or anyone who wants to feel more confident before the season starts.
Workshop 2: Cornering
Date: Tuesday, March 24th @ 4:30pm
Trail: SST
Cornering is one of the biggest places riders gain — or lose — time during a race.
In this workshop riders will learn:
• Body position for strong cornering
• How to carry speed through turns
• Braking before corners instead of during them
• Choosing smooth and fast lines
We’ll practice on SST’s flowing corners and help riders develop the confidence to maintain momentum.
Workshop 3: Braking
Date: Tuesday, March 31st @ 4:30pm
Trails: Cheech & Chong to Rank Advancement
Braking is one of the most misunderstood skills in mountain biking.
In this session riders will learn:
• How to brake with control on steep terrain
• Front vs rear brake technique
• When to brake — and when not to
• How braking affects traction and speed
We’ll session sections of trail where riders can safely practice braking technique and build confidence.
Workshop 4: Line Choice
Date: Tuesday, April 14th @ 4:30pm
Trails: Das Autobahn to Irish Death
Fast riders aren’t just strong — they choose smart lines.
This workshop focuses on:
• Identifying fast vs slow lines
• Reading trail features quickly
• Avoiding unnecessary braking
• Linking sections together for smooth speed
Riders will practice scouting and riding multiple lines through technical sections.
Workshop 5: Pumping for Speed
Date: Tuesday, April 21st @ 4:30pm
Trail: A-Dog
Pumping terrain allows riders to carry speed without pedaling harder.
In this session riders will learn:
• How to generate speed using terrain
• Pumping rollers and trail features
• Timing and body movements
• Maintaining momentum between corners
These skills are especially valuable in race courses with rolling terrain.
Workshop 6: Jumps & Air Control
Date: Tuesday, April 28th @ 4:30pm
Trail: Blue Ribbon
A playful session focused on jumps and trail features riders may encounter on race courses.
Riders will work on:
• Safe jump technique
• Takeoff and landing body position
• Controlling the bike in the air
• Building confidence on features
This workshop is great for riders who want to feel comfortable when the trail gets a little spicy.
